BASIC SEARCH and ADVANCED SEARCH support wildcards - question mark (?) for one alphanumeric character and asterisk (*) for one or more alphanumeric character. Example search term:
Organic will find all examples of this string
Organic* will find all examples of words that start with the string 'organic' so organic, organically will be a match
Org* will find all examples of words that start with 'org' so organic, organically, organization, organizations, organizationally will be a match
*organic* will find all examples of words that contain the string 'organic' in any position in the word so organic, organically, inorganic will be a match
Organic compound will find all examples of the string organic OR compound; searching for compound organic will find the same
"organic compound" will find all examples of the string 'organic compound" in that order
"*organic compound" will find all examples of the string 'organic compound' in that order plus all examples of strings such as 'inorganic compound'
Advanced Search
If a search term is entered in the Keywords box on the Advanced Search screen and if the Search Full Text option is ticked, the search will find occurrences of the search term in the full text. Snippets showing the context of each occurrence will be listed in the TOC of each publication in the results list.
To limit the search to specific fields enter the search term in one of the fields labeled:
• TitleSearch terms will be seen in bold in the results list.
